Patricia Ann (Cole) O'Brien

 Patricia Ann (Cole) O’Brien, 76, of 125 E. Broadway, Gettysburg, formerly of Basking Ridge, N.J., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at her home.

Born March 16, 1928 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Catherine Codori Cole. She was the wife of Robert E. O’Brien.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg. She graduated from St. Joseph’s College High School in Emmitsburg, Md. in 1946. She was employed as a private secretary to the Honorable W.C. Sheely, President Judge of the 51st District from 1946 to 1951. She was employed as an executive secretary at AT&T Headquarters in Basking Ridge, N.J. and at Bell Communications Research in Morristown, N.J. prior to her retirement in 1989. She was also a member of the Gettysburg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Gettysburg AARP Chapter #2635.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Anne M. Kupstas of Crofton, Md., Carolyn L. Austin of Dallas, Texas, Eileen M. Chunko of Plainsboro, N.J., Catherine E. Pace of Gladstone, N.J. and Susan E. Wagner of Peapack, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; seven brothers, Richard C. Cole, Philip M. Cole, and Kenneth J. Cole, all of Orrtanna, William A. Cole, Edwin M. Cole and James M. Cole, all of Gettysburg, and David L. Cole of Blue Bell, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 3, meeting at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg at 10 a.m. to go to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bernardo Pistone as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Ignatius Loyola Cemetery in Orrtanna.

The family will receive friends at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 22 W. High St., Gettysburg, PA 17325, or to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia Ann O’Brien, 76, of 125 E. Broadway, Gettysburg, who died Aug. 30 at her home, were held Sept. 3, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg, with her pastor, the Rev. Father Bernardo Pistone celebrant. Interment was in the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery, Orrtanna.

Pallbearers were Richard Cole, Kenneth Cole, William Cole, Edwin Cole, David Cole, James Cole, Philip Cole, and Steven Cole.

The Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
