E. Kotary passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2019 after a long struggle
with M.S. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on Oct. 3, 1948. Marcia was the
daughter of the late Leland and Maroa McAndrews Castle. Marcia attended Rome
and Utica schools. She lived most of her life in Rome before relocating to
Houston, Texas.
Marcia is survived by a daughter, Darla (John) Newton, Rome, N.Y.; a son,
Kieth Kotary, Houston, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leland and
Lillian Castle Jr., and Clyde and Colleen Castle; grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
sisters Judy (Pete) Murray, and Elizabeth (Jesse) Winchester.
A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held Monday, May 6, from 4 until 10
p.m. at the Snubbing Post, Route 46, Rome. A burial will be held at Point
Rock Cemetery at the discretion of the family.
