Garth was the husband of Hope Cain (daughter of Ruth Kotary Pfendler).

Garth M. Cain, 78, Kennesaw, GA, died
on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. He was born on August 21, 1933 in Ann Arbor,
MI. He was the son of Vernal and Irene Cain. He graduated from
Stockbridge High School in 1951. After graduation Garth moved to
California and began working for the US Postal Service. It was in
California where he met his wife Hope Ann. They were married on April
22, 1961. In 1963 they moved to the Atlanta area. In 1978 he was named
Post Master of Marietta, GA. He held that position for 22 years,
retiring in 2000. Garth was preceded in death by his parents. He is
survived by his wife of 52 years, his sons Mark (Donna), John (Melanie),
and 6 grandchildren. Services will be held at Transfiguration Catholic
Church, 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta, GA, 30066, on Monday, June 11 at
11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church immediately
following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given
to Transfiguration Catholic Church in Memory of Garth M. Cain. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta will be handling the arrangements. |
